He presented results of his first research project on choro harmony. The talk presented results of studies comparing triadic harmonic progressions at moments of formal segmentations across databases of harmonic annotations in choro, Anglophone popular, European classical and jazz music. Results indicate both shared and unique harmonic behaviors in all styles, and suggest that more comparative work including diverse styles can help musicology better understand how harmonic style develops in different contexts.
